Ski Trip Info.

22 01 2009

Here are some things you will need to know about the upcoming Ski-trip. First of all the schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, January 21st: Bring all luggage & A signed “Winter Activities Participant’s Release” waiver for Snow Summit to the FCC Youth building at 5:00pm. That means you may have to make some time to get packed on Tuesday night or Wednesday afternoon. Students will not have access to their luggage until we arrive at the condo in Big Bear if they need anything with them before that time they will want to keep it separate.

Thursday, January 22nd: This is the day we leave. Everyone will meet in

the back of the Ramona High School front parking lot at 12:00pm, right after class is dismissed. Please do not expect to load your luggage at this time as it will be loaded after it is dropped off on Wednesday night. Any students who do not have finals and would like to head up to the mountain early (under Dave Hager’s supervision) must call Wes at the church office before Wednesday to RSVP for a spot in Dave Hager’s vehicle (call Wes for more details).

Friday, January 23rd: Ski day! We will hit the slopes and then meet for lunch and then hit ‘em again. In the evening we will have dinner, a devotional (bring your bibles), and then we will go bowling together as a group.

Saturday, January 24th: We will ski some more, then we’ll get packed up, return all rentals and head home. We will be back to the church around 9pm at the latest.

Here is a list of things to bring that you may not have thought about:

-Warm clothes

-T-shirts (just because it’s Big Bear doesn’t mean it’s always going to be freezing cold)

-A pen or pencil

-Money for lunch on the way up and money for dinner on the way down.

-An extra blanket.

-A signed “Winter Activities Participant’s Release” waiver for Snow Summit.

Here are some things you don’t have to bring but you might want to bring at your own risk and discretion:

-Movies (No “R” rated movies)

-Personal snacks (if you bring them you must share them)

It is also noteworthy that at the condo, the girls and the boys will have separate sleeping areas and will be under the supervision of trusted and experienced adult volunteers. The safety and the wellbeing of each individual student will be the highest priority to the leaders and volunteers coordinating this trip. Here is a brief description of the condo in which we are staying:

Walk to the slopes from these four fantastic condos to Snow Summit. Have your group all stay at the same location, right next store to each other. Each 1000 sq ft condo sleeps a total of SIX people, which comes to a total of TWENTY FOUR people!! What a great time this vacation would be!! These nicely furnished and decorated two story condos, each have fully equipped kitchens, dishwashers, microwaves, living rooms, wood burning fireplaces, 4 TVs, 4 DVDs(in each) and a game table in the dining area. The living room is downstairs and has sofa sleeper and 1/2 bath plus stack laundry available. The two bedrooms are upstairs with a shared full bath in the hallway. The 1st bedroom has a queen bed, TV, DVD and private balcony off it. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds and a TV/DVD. Each condo has wireless internet connection and a phone for you too!! There is a patio area off the kitchen with a charcoal BBQ. This is the must have location for your next trip to Big Bear. Good pets are welcome.
