SouperBowl of Caring 2011

3 02 2011

This Sunday morning, between first and second service, the Junior High Youth Ministry will be participating in the national event, The Souper Bowl of Caring.  Youth Groups from all over the country take Superbowl Sunday, a day when many of us are consumed and distracted by football, to remember the poor and the needy in their community. Donations are collected in the form of both money and canned food items. This year, out Jr. Highers will be collecting for the Ramona Food & Clothes Closet–a local organization dedicated to the task of helping the poor and feeding the hungry in the community of Ramona. In partnering with them, Our students will be participating in what God is doing in the world!

Last year we collected over $500 in cash donations and 59 canned food items and this year we hope to accomplish something like that. So this Sunday morning, as you think about your cheese dips and party platters for the big game, take some time to remember those in need by offering your donations to the Jr. High Youth. Bring your canned food or gifts to church and look for the teenagers with bowls & pots.

Students will meet in the Church Kitchen at 9:30am sharp!
